Minaqua is not characterized only with constant production growth, but also with social-corporate responsibility. Minaqua supports through the donations and sponsorships various manifestations. During 2007 company produced its billionth bottle and sold it on organized auction. The amount of collected finances was doubled and all the money was given to the humanitarian fund Social justice, which main responsibility is taking care of old and poor residents of Novi Sad.
This amount was used to ensure 7 days SPA rehabilitation for 40 members of the fund.
BB MINAQUA has donated over 7,500,000,00 dinars to the fund so far.
During 2008 BB Minaqua continued to initiate and also participate in many other manifestations such as donations of bottled water to the regions without drinking water, supported Institute for blood transfusion, donations to the children in Svratište, as well in Sigurna kuća, or children refugees from Kosovo and children living in Children’s village and many more humanitarian activities.
Anatoly Karpov, the world champion in chess and UNICEF’s ambassador of good will, was one of the patrons of the Children Chess Olympiad which was organized in Novi Sad in 2005, 2006 and 2007. Organizers of the Olympiad were company BB MINAQUA, NS Chess club, MENSA SCG as well as permanent committee of the ,,Children chess Olympiad – World championship” Karpov – Bjelica.
The competition was held according the official procedures of Serbian Chess Committee of Serbia and Montenegro and FIDE. Every year this competition had over 100 participants – children from 30 countries all over the world.
This manifestation once again pointed out the importance of iodine for the intellectual development. Anatoly Karpov, one of the greatest fighters against iodine deficiency in the world, many years was pointing out the importance of this element all over the world, and appealed on people to intake iodine at least through the iodized salt to improve the level of this element in their organism.
This is a serious problem and many countries in the world are facing with this problem.
Karpov has struggled many years for the human rights and participate in many humanitarian actions, and with this effort earned the status of the ambassador of UNICEF and at the same time he become the most deserving person in the planet in battle against iodine deficiency.
